Welcome to your Spanish property in FEREZ !

Ferez is unspoilt, traditional, convenient, undiscovered and still great value for money.

Less than 90 minutes to the airports at Murcia and Alicante, and close to famous inland tourist towns and resorts of Calasparra (including golf)
Caravaca de la Cruz, and the sea.plaza and bar terrace

Ferez : ‘The Mountain Jewel’, has its origins buried deep in the Iberian age. In  Roman times it was known as Frez, possibly meaning ‘fortification’. An order of Santiago  was inaugurated in adjacent Socovos between 1201- 1252 in the reign of Fernando III..

This ancient traditional, unspoilt town  surrounded by fertile land, with  Carasca pines, evergreen oaks, fruit trees, fields of grain and vegetables,  juniper  and wild mediterranean herbs, is justly famous  for the quality of its extra virgin olive oil. Indeed, apart from the newly burgeoning inland rural tourism industry, olive groves and almond plantations are the main basis of its economy.

It´s a pretty village with well tended flower beds, fresh water fonts, and narrow, medieval Calles (lanes) with houses of stone or whitewash. Part of an Arab royal court remains along with a Roman arch, 16th century Gothic style church  – (with its superb 18C organ,) a Gothic volt and a 15th century Triptych of Santa Anna..
Other must-see places are the Molino de Mora (Mulberry Mill!), Mirador (viewpoint) and the Mirador Bridge.

The beautiful Cenajo reservoir is close by, and even the River Segura – for fishing and  bathing, and a booming  bar/restaurant with terrace overlooking the river.

Ferez comprises part of the regions long distance walks - this section(GR68) running between Ferez and Letur with a distance of 10.5k and an estimated time of 2hrs 40mins.

Although pleasantly walkable, with easy parking, Ferez is not short of facilities, including several bar and restaurants, fruits shops, newsagents, builders, hairdressers, medical centre, internet centre, driving school, library, town hall, schools and sports centre and a weekly open-air market.

Added to this there is a superb open air swimming pool in the summer months on the edge of the village with grass surround, palm trees and outside bar and restaurant !!

Summer fiestas are held the  1st week in August, with bull running, music and dancing, and outdoor theatre in the village square.
Saints fiesta – Rosario – is 1st week of October.

Is it any wonder that we´re really excited about being the only agents in situ ?!

We anticipate big demand for the very keenly priced traditional casas. Why not make  an appointment now  and see for yourself ?
